Top Technology Space: Delivered Have you ever watched a space movie and stared jealously at the astronauts zipping around the cabin in their socks, gobbling candy out of the air and passing notebooks to each other with the flick of a finger? Thanks to the folks at Zero Gravity Corp., even though you didn’t join NASA like you wanted to as a kid, you can still have that experience. Zero-G’s specialty is training astronauts. Its Boeing 727- 200F, aptly named “G-Force One,” has had its seats removed, walls padded and engine boosted, all in the quest to give soon-to-be astronauts the experience of zero gravity in a safe training environment. Luckily for us, when they’re not working for NASA, Zero-G offers regular people (those of us who haven’t been studying astrophysics and doing pushups for the last 20 years) the chance to experience a feeling that is literally unlike anything on earth. G-Force One’s modifications allow it to fly in steep arcs through the sky at great speed, creating weightlessness, which gives passengers 30-60 seconds to float around the empty cabin, doing all the tricks you ever thought of while watching those movies. The first few arcs start with reduced gravity, simulating the moon. Not only will you be hopping around the fuselage like Neil Armstrong, you’ll also be mentally preparing yourself for the impending awesome experience of complete weightlessness. The rest of the arcs are the real deal – zero gravity – where the slightest push of your fingertips on the floor can send you zooming across the cabin. The moment you feel the weight of your body completely lift away and the incredible sensation of floating through the air, you’ll know then and there that you will never forget this experience. Zero-G’s highly trained staff will be there to help orient and assist you in executing acrobatics otherwise impossible on earth. You’ll also have a chance to live out your fantasy of chasing down floating water drops and having a buddy roll you through the air like a ball. They even include a professional photographer and multiple mounted HD video cameras, letting you enjoy your time without worrying about capturing the moment. Based out of Arlington, Va., Zero-G runs rotating flights out of major airports around the United States and some in London. With only 36 people on each flight, there’s a great chance you’ll be floating with one of the countless celebrities, notable scientists or even former astronauts that Zero- G has taken into the big blue sky. A flight aboard G-Force One is the type of event no luxury can match and money usually can’t buy. An experience so full of joy, so filled with smiling passengers, it’ll be the happiest flight you’ll ever take.
