Featured Event women of tomorrow Gala Raises Record-Breaking Amount The Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program celebrated its 12th Annual Gala and 17th year of mentoring on March 2 at the Mandarin Oriental Miami. Founders Jennifer Valoppi and Don Browne, along with Gala Chair Marisa Toccin and Co-Vice President Katherine Fernandez Rundle, were among the 500 philanthropists and celebrities who raised a recordbreaking $700,000 for the program. South Florida businessman Chaim Katzman matched the scholarship donations of $70,000. His gift, in honor of his wife Dr. Shulamit Katzman, made the scholarship auction the most successful to date. That same evening, Dr. Katzman was honored as Mentor of the Year along with her co-mentor Eileen Winkler Youtie. And, a silent auction was held with more than 100 premier items up for grabs. Headquartered in Miami, Women of Tomorrow currently mentors approximately 2,800 at-risk young women in 130 public high schools. Since its founding, the organization has awarded over $3.2 million in scholarships to more than 1,100 mentees.
