PERFECT RECIPE FOR MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH Karel's Baked French Toast DIRECTIONS: 1 loaf French bread 10-12 eggs 2 cups half & half 1 cup evaporated milk 3 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2 tsp. cinnamon Dash of table salt Praline Topping: 2 sticks of butter, softened 1 cup dark brown sugar 1 cup chopped pecans 4 tbsp. maple syrup 1 tsp. cinnamon Slice French bread into thick 1 inch slices. Arrange the slices in a heavily buttered 9 x 13 inch baking dish in two rows covering the bottom of the dish, it is ok if the slices overlap. Combine eggs, half & half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt and whisk until blended. Pour the mixture evenly over the bread slices and make sure the mixture goes in between the slices. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight. Preheat oven to 350°. Mix praline topping ingredients together in a bowl until it resembles a crumble topping. Sprinkle over the bread and bake covered with foil for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking until the praline topping is golden brown.
